When a hotel furnishes a new wing or refreshes a floor, one of the first questions is whether to buy complete room packages or to source individual pieces. Both are valid. The right answer depends on your budget, timeline and how much of your current furniture is still in good shape.
When a complete room makes sense
New builds and full renovations. If the room is empty, a complete package gives you a coherent design in a single order, one delivery and one installation visit.
Consistency across many rooms. A 60-key hotel needs 60 identical rooms. Ordering the same room package 60 times guarantees matching finishes, fabrics and dimensions from the same production batch.
Better pricing. Producing coordinated sets is more efficient than one-off pieces, and we pass that on: every Otelia complete room is discounted against the price of its pieces bought separately — usually by around 10%.
Faster decisions. Instead of approving 40 separate items, your team approves one room concept — style, palette and piece list — and moves on.
When buying piece by piece is smarter
Partial refreshes. Beds and wardrobes are often fine for ten years while chairs and nightstands need replacing after five. Replace only what is worn.
Unusual rooms. Corner suites, attic rooms and accessible rooms often need one or two pieces made to different sizes.
Phased budgets. Some owners refresh the most visible items first — lounge chairs and headboards — then complete the room the following season.

How to decide in five minutes
- List every room type in your property and how many of each you have.
- Mark which existing pieces can stay for another three years.
- If more than half of a room is being replaced, the complete package is almost always cheaper.
- Order single pieces for the remaining rooms and for any non-standard sizes.
